BIO
Hhu (Younghoo Lee) was born in Incheon, Korea, in 1990. He graduated with a BFA in Sculpture from Hongik University in 2014, and received his MFA in Fine Arts from The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, New York. During his BFA studies, he took a part-time job at a furniture factory, which introduced him to basic industrial techniques such as welding and woodworking. Hhu’s works evolved to address the decline of social values in the societies around him by addressing specific issues by creating site-specific installations. He continues to experiment with textures and incorporate visible fibers, woods, resin, and applying industrial techniques to achieve his vision. Currently, Hhu lives and works in New York City.
